32 Encounter the friendly locals in Peru's Sacred Valley For the next five days, you'll enjoy morning and afternoon Zodiac rides with your Expedition Team, getting you right up close to the glaciers. Experience some of the most unique wildlife viewing in the world as you're taken to visit gentoo, chinstrap and Adélie penguin rookeries. You're also likely to encounter Weddell, crabeater, leopard and Antarctic fur seals. These chilly waters are often frequented by hunting orca and the breaching forms of humpback and minke whales, so be sure to keep an eye out. Although landing sites will vary depending on conditions, the route will feature the most scenic bays and channels, including the stunning Lemeire Channel and Neko Bay, where icebergs loom in a shade of captivating blue. Head to the shores of Deception Island, an active volcano surrounded by distinctive black sand. Once an old whaling station, you will see giant barrels and bleached white whale bones scattered along the deserted beaches. Here you'll also see impressive elephant seals as they lounge on the uniquely-coloured sand. During your time around the Peninsula, you may even get the chance to stop at Port Lockroy, an active scientific base currently studying gentoo penguins. Here, you can take the opportunity to send a postcard with a rare Antarctic stamp. BLD Days 17-18. Drake Passage. The adventure continues as you return across the Drake Passage back towards Ushuaia. Along the way, be sure to keep a keen eye out for the wildlife that may be encountered en route, with many whales, dolphins, giant petrels, albatross and penguins frequenting these waters. BLD Day 19. Disembark Ship, Ushuaia, Fly to Buenos Aires. Bid farewell to Le Boréal as you disembark in Ushuaia and travel to the airport for your included flight to Buenos Aires. On arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel. Stay: Buenos Aires, Alvear Palace Hotel. B Day 20. Buenos Aires, Lima (Peru). Today, fly to Lima, the starting point of your Peruvian discovery. Settle into your room, taking in the magnificent ocean views. Two Night Stay: JW Marriott Hotel Lima, Ocean View Rooms. B Day 21. Lima. Enjoy the morning at leisure amid the beautiful surrounds of your hotel. Later, spend a fun afternoon at a private hacienda. Arrive to live music and dance before enjoying lunch and a Peruvian Paso horse show. BL Day 22. Lima, Cusco, Chincheros, Sacred Valley. Fly to Cusco, the historic capital of the Incan Empire. On arrival, travel by coach to Chincheros. During an interesting traditional weaving demonstration, learn how the famously colourful materials of South America are created. Two Night Stay: Sacred Valley, Tambo del Inka, Luxury Collection by Starwood. BD Day 23. Sacred Valley. An exploration of the area begins with a visit to the markets of Pisac, a hilltop village that lies near ancient Incan ruins. This morning, embark on a walking tour of Cusco before choosing from three restaurant options for lunch. The rest of the day is then yours to spend at leisure. BLD Day 27. Cusco. Enjoy time to explore the wonders of Cusco at your own pace. Once the thriving capital of the Incan Empire, there is plenty to see here. B Day 28. Cusco, Lima. Fly back to Lima and be transferred to your hotel.
