Day 17. Livingstone, Johannesburg. Fly to Johannesburg where you will stay overnight before your journey to Kenya. Stay: Johannesburg, D'Oreale Grande Hotel. B Day 18. Johannesburg, Nairobi. Fly to Nairobi in Kenya. Here, enjoy a Welcome Reception including a private performance by the Kenyan Boys Choir. Stay: Nairobi, Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel. B THE LANDSCAPES OF MT KENYA Day 19. Nairobi, Mt Kenya. Leave Nairobi bound for Mt Kenya, Africa's second highest mountain located close to the equator in Mt Kenya National Park. Arrive to a gracious welcome at Mt Kenya Safari Club, originally the retreat of movie star and club founder, William Holden. With views to Mt Kenya's snowcapped peaks beyond acres of landscaped gardens, this is a spectacular setting and the ideal base for your foray into the countryside of Kenya. Two Night Stay: Mt Kenya, Fairmont Mt Kenya Safari Club. BLD Day 20. Mt Kenya. Today's adventure takes you to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a non-profit wildlife haven that supports Africa's most endangered species. On game drives, you'll visit the chimpanzee sanctuary and enjoy close encounters with the resident rhinos. Lunch will be set for you in within the conservancy. Morning and afternoon game drives today present the chance to spot Africa's famous Big Five as well as a host of fascinating smaller species. This is also one of the very few places you will have the chance to view the incredibly rare African wild dog. Back at the lodge, you've the day to relax and recharge. Catch up on some reading, watch for wildlife from your private deck or soak in your plunge pool. Your day then ends with a boma dinner under the beautiful stars of the African night sky. BLD Day 12. Madikwe Game Reserve, Kasane, Embark River Safari. Farewell Madikwe as you transfer to Gaborone in Botswana for your flight to Kasane. From here, travel by coach and boat into Namibia to board your river ship. Scenes of natural beauty reveal themselves as you cruise the Chobe River at sunset. Hippos emerge from the waters as the air cools, while elephants and cape buffalo congregate at the riverbanks for a drink at dusk. Three Night Stay: Chobe National Park, Zambezi Queen. BD Day 13. Chobe National Park, Chobe River, Freedom of Choice. Watch for wildlife close to the riverbanks as you cruise. Following a relaxing lunch on board, you have two options as to how to spend your afternoon: Tour a village on the Namibian side of the river or perhaps try your hand at fishing. BLD Day 14. Chobe National Park, Chobe River. Relish the scenery surrounding the Chobe River with a leisurely morning on board. You have the entire day to enjoy the wonders of Chobe National Park, with an awe-inspiring ecosystem right at your doorstep. BLD Day 15. Disembark River Safari, Livingstone, Victoria Falls. Disembark your ship and cross the border into Botswana then on to Zambia. Arrive at your hotel, set right on the banks of the Zambezi River. Take a short walk to Victoria Falls to marvel at this natural wonder. Two Night Stay: Royal Livingstone Hotel. BD Day 16. Livingstone, Freedom of Choice. Perhaps trace the steps of Dr Livingstone on Chief Mukuni's Village Cultural Tour then visit the Maramba Market. Or enjoy an elephant safari along the Zambezi River. Alternatively, marvel at the falls from above during a helicopter flight.
