Singing success Hi Upstart, Recently I entered a competition called Westfield's 5 Minutes of Fame. There were about 10 other contestants on the day. First, we had the heats and everyone did really well! I performed a song that I wrote called Why and came second. The girl who came first was amazing. She did a dance to one of the songs off the movie, Schindler's List so it was quite a powerful dance and she deserved the win. She won an iPod shuffle and I won a $50 iTunes voucher. Then we went through to the semi-finals and I came first against the dancer from our heat and all the other winners from the other heats. I won $100 in Westfield vouchers! I bought an iPod Touch. Then they videoed my song and put it on their website for people to vote for the best out of all the semi-finalists in New Zealand! Unfortunately I didn't win but I did come third! – NAKITA TURNER, 12, Rangiora New Life School, Christchurch achievements! Other Hi Upstart, I have been helping with the Environthon at my school.
