Azaro ' s o inte Quite Excellent So Quite Excellent Victoria M. Azaro My So Quite Interesting Column Hi, I am Saffron and this column is about me and my books. This all happened because one day I met this lady called Victoria M. Azaro, and she seemed really interested in everything I did. So I started calling her all the time. Even when I was travelling. We travel a lot. Mum, Dad, me, my little sister Sage and my baby sister Star Anise. I am so excellent at travelling! Then one day I got this book which was all about me, and how interesting I am. It even had pictures of me and my family. And then, just the other day, this nice lady called me. She said, She said she loves my books. Then, she asked me if I wanted to write a column in t r a v e l ' .nor f fa this really cool magazine called Upstart. Then I said, 'Of course. I am so good at column writing.' Upstart is my favourite magazine in the whole wide world!!! Right now I am in Uruguay in South America. This is what happens when I call the lovely lady at 3 p.m. Uruguay time: 'Hello lovely lady! Hello Upstart! This is Saffron, calling from Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay!' 'Oh yes, yes, hello,' she says. She sounds really sleepy. I am sure this is not a problem. So I start telling her all these really interesting things. I tell her that I am quite excellent at the moment. I am even speaking perfect Spanish. We are here for Star Anise's baptism. All of Mum's relatives have come from Argentina. They are all hugging and kissing each other. I tell Sage to come to the corner to avoid all this kissing. I also tell her that UNESCO has declared Colonia a World Heritage Site and that it is full of history. I am not exactly sure what UNESCO is but it sounds really interesting. Sage says, 'Dad says UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.' Of course I already knew all of that. I decide that I should take Star Anise and Sage for a walk in the historic quarter of Colonia. Here are the two very interesting books Victoria has already written about me: This is what happens: 'Why is everything so old?' Sage asks. I tell her that Colonia is very old and precious. But Sage is not listening and keeps complaining. We start walking around the block. Then we stop. Then we try to keep walking. Then we stop again. 'Saffron, I told you this place is all broken,' Sage says. The street is all made of sharp pointy stones. Star Anise's pram is completely stuck. I can't move it. She starts crying. Sage starts whining. I tell them not to worry because we are definitely protected by the UNESCO people. 'Saffron, are you sure you are all right? Your little sister seems very distressed,' the lovely lady says on the phone. 'Yes, I am quite excellent. Bye now. I might call you later.' Actually, I think my little sisters need me at the moment so And here is the extremely interesting new book that will be out in April this year: When her baby sister, Star Anise, has a sleep problem and Mum can't keep up, Saffron knows exactly what to do, and that's although her ideas for helping are so quite excellent, they don't go exactly to plan. HE L P. But WIN Saffron's first two books! Turn to page 12 for details. chau chau for now, Upstart. Of course 'chau chau' means 'bye bye' in Spanish. Mum keeps yawning. She is always tired at the moment. I don't understand why, because she sleeps a lot during the day. She says it's because Star Anise is such a creative baby. www.victoriamazaro.com Y o r e itser
