That's where Kidsline comes in - it's a place you can call when you're feeling down or stressed out, and where there will be someone to talk to. The Kidsline motto: He pai ake te korero, it helps to talk Back to school survival guide Going back to school can be a really busy time. In between new classes, new teachers, new friends, sorting new uniforms, new stationery and a whole new year, there's a lot going on! With school starting again for the year you might feel a whole bunch of different things. You could be excited, anxious, nervous, stressed, worried, or lots of other things – and that's OK. Feeling funny about going back to school? You're not alone. Sometimes what has happened to us before changes how we think about the future. For example, if you had a hard time last year, you might be worried about this year being the same. 42 Sometimes, it might feel like you're all alone with these worries or feelings, and that can make it feel even harder to deal with. New situations (like a new class or teacher) can mean that you might not know how to act, or what to do. It might also feel like you don't quite belong. But what you might not know is that other kids are going through similar things. It may not seem like it, because a lot of people don't talk about how they feel. That's something that Kidsline would really like to change! February / March 2012 ch 2012 Kidsline Buddies are there for anyone who needs to share how they're feeling. It might be about something good, or about something not so good. We know that it does help to talk about what you're feeling, especially around times of change (like a new school year), and Kidsline is here to listen. Always be a first-rate version of YOU, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else. What's Kidsline? By TESSA JOHNSTONE When can I call and does it cost? What kind of stuff would I talk about?
