Stay (Three Nights): Rio de Janeiro, Porto Bay Rio International. B Day 12. Rio de Janeiro. After a day at leisure, ride a cable car at sunset up to Sugarloaf Mountain. A Taste of Rio de Janeiro – later, head to a local restaurant to enjoy a caipirinha and a Brazilian BBQ. Enhance Your Journey: Enjoy a drive through the local favelas, or take a guided tour of some of Rio de Janeiro's most significant historical sights (see page 67). BD Day 13. Rio de Janeiro. Head to Corcovado Mountain and visit the statue of Christ the Redeemer at the peak, absorbing the views from the top. The rest of the day is then yours at leisure. Enhance Your Journey: Tonight, you may like to experience the city's nightlife or take in a spectacular samba show (see page 67). B Day 14. Rio de Janeiro, Iguassu Falls (Brazil & Argentina). Fly to Iguassu Falls, a system of 275 falls on the border of Argentina and Brazil. Here, experience the majesty of Brazil's World Heritage-listed Iguassu National Park at your leisure. You might like to walk through subtropical rainforest to take in panoramic views of the falls. Stay (Two Nights): Iguassu Falls, Mercure Iguazu. BD Day 15. Iguassu Falls. On the Argentinian side of the falls, ride the Rainforest Ecological Train to a series of walkways and viewing points, including one that leads to the 82-metre-high Devil's Throat, one of the most spectacular falls of the region. Enhance Your Journey: Perhaps board an exciting speed boat safari and learn about the unique flora and fauna of this spectacular region (see page 67). B Day 16. Iguassu Falls, Lima (Peru). Today heralds the start of your Peruvian discovery, as you fly from Iguassu Falls to Lima. Enhance Your Journey: Before you depart Iguassu Falls, perhaps explore Parque das Aves or visit Itaipu Dam (see page 67). Stay: Lima, Wyndham Costa Del Sol. B Day 17. Lima, Cusco, Chincheros, Sacred Valley. This morning fly to the World Heritage-listed city of Cusco, former capital of the Inca Empire. Travel to Chincheros in the Andean highlands. Like a Local – at a weaving demonstration, see how the colourful materials of South America are created by local people. This evening, enjoy dinner at leisure. Special Stay – soak up the ancient Andean atmosphere at the premium Aranwa Sacred Valley. Stay (Two Nights): Aranwa Sacred Valley. B Day 18. Sacred Valley. This morning visit the markets of Pisac, a hilltop handicraft village located near Inca ruins. A Taste of the Sacred Valley – visit the children's project, Munaychay, and enjoy a traditional lunch cooked in a Peruvian earth oven. Then continue on with a visit to Ollantaytambo, a town as well as a unique Inca archaeological site. Afterwards, the remainder of today is yours to enjoy at leisure.
