Board your Xplorer vessel and get up close to the terraced King Cascades. Cruise up Prince Regent River to Camp Creek, where you will stop to enjoy some refreshments. Indulge in a swim before heading back to the ship for dinner later this evening. BLD Day 7. Careening Bay, Bigge Island. Travel to Careening Bay and visit the iconic double-trunked boab tree bearing the engraving 'HMC Mermaid – 1820'. Carved by one of the crew, the inscription commemorates the site where the ship was grounded and repaired. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, explore the stunning rock formations and ancient Aboriginal art of Bigge Island. BLD Day 8. Hathaway's Hideaway, Mitchell Falls, Beach Barbecue. Anchor in Winyalken Bay and head to the winding maze of Hathaway's Hideaway. Later, perhaps take an optional helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls (own expense). Later this evening, indulge in a gourmet barbecue on the beach. BLD Day 9. Vansittart Bay, Jar Island. Head out across the sand flats of Vansittart Bay to view the wreckage of the US Air Force DC3 plane. Later, guest lecturers will guide you through the Aboriginal art of Jar Island. BLD Day 10. King George River and Falls. Explore the luscious Tranquil Bay with a beach stroll, then discover gorges carved from the earth by the force of the mighty King George River as you cruise up to the base of the tallest waterfall in Western Australia.
