93 MEXICO EXPERIENCE LA VIDA Day 11. Lima, Havana (Cuba). Today you'll fly to Havana, the illustrious capital of Cuba. Havana is world-renowned for its rich history, lively music, grand architecture, famous cigars, scrumptious cocktails and of course, classic old American cars. Be met on arrival at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Tonight, enjoy a special dinner at a local paladar. Four Night Stay: Havana, Hotel Iberostar Park Central. BD Day 12. Havana. After breakfast, take a ride in an classic American car and feel the rhythm of the city during a guided tour. Visit some of Havana's most famous areas including New Havana, Old Havana, the Malecón seawall promenade, the affluent neighbourhood of Miramar and the famous Colon Cemetery. Later, explore the city by foot and learn about its historical and colonial past in Old Havana. You'll visit Cathedral Square, San Francisco de Asis Square and the magnificent Arms Square. All the while, delight in the street theatre and commotion of every day life along Havana's busy walkways. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant then spend the rest of the day at your leisure. BL Day 13. Pinar del Rio, Viñales. Set out on a day tour to the beautiful, lush valley of the Pinar del Rio province. In the heart of Cuba's prime tobacco-growing region, Viñales sits quietly surrounded by a number of stunning karst hill formations known as mogotes (pincushions). Visit a cigar factory and learn about the tobacco production process, before continuing to La Cueva del Indio. Here, sail in traditional boats along an underground river, passing through the interior of some of the giant haystack hills. BL Day 14. Havana, Freedom of Choice. Discover a different side to Cuba on your chosen sightseeing activity. You may like to embark on a Hemingway tour and visit some of Ernest Hemingway's favourite places throughout Havana. Alternatively, set out on an Afro-Cuban heritage tour and discover the renowned Callejon de Hamel where the Cuban artist fraternity congregate. Another option is to take a fun salsa lesson. Later this evening, experience the retro atmosphere of a Cuban jazz club, showcasing Cuba's all-star musicians. BLD Day 15. Havana, Mexico City (Mexico). This morning, leave Cuba and fly to Mexico City, the nation's thriving capital. Be met on arrival and transfer to your elegant hotel, overlooking the Paseo de la Reforma. This evening, enjoy a special Welcome Reception. Three Night Stay: The St. Regis Mexico City. B Day 16. Mexico City. Set out on a city tour starting at the World Heritage-listed Historic Centre. Visit the beating heart of Mexico City, the Zócalo, and see the iconic Metropolitan Cathedral and Presidential Palace that dominate the bustling plaza. You'll also see the Palacio de Bellas Artes, a splendid white-marble cultural hub, and the ornate Main Post Office. Next, visit the National Museum of Anthropology. The museum's vast collections tell the story of Mexico's great civilisations. Tonight, visit the Hacienda de los Morales for an evening of traditional Mexican dining. BD Day 17. Mexico City. Today, a local archaeologist will guide you through Mexico's largest ancient city, Teotihuacan. Built between the 1st and 7th centuries, the holy metropolis is famous for its enormous pyramids, including the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon. Next, enjoy lunch at a nearby plantation before seeing the celebrated Catholic shrine, the Basilica of Guadalupe. BL Day 18. Puebla. As you approach the city of Puebla, pass by Cholula and see the striking Church of Our Lady of Remedies. During a tour of Puebla, you'll see this colonial city is characterised by hundreds of buildings adorned with decorative tiles known as Talavera. Perhaps take the opportunity to sample a local favourite, mole poblano – a chocolate-tinged sauce made with chillies and spices. This evening, dine at a local restaurant. Stay: Puebla, Quinta Real.
