Welcome to Mexico City, the nation's thriving capital. Be met on arrival and transfer to your elegant hotel, which overlooks the famous Paseo de la Reforma, a beautiful avenue. This evening, enjoy a special Welcome Reception with your fellow travellers. Three Night Stay: The St. Regis Mexico City. Day 2. Mexico City. This morning, set out on a city tour beginning at the World Heritage-listed Historic Centre. Visit the beating heart of Mexico City – the Zócalo, one of the world's largest public squares. See the iconic Metropolitan Cathedral and Presidential Palace that dominate the bustling plaza. You'll also see the Palacio de Bellas Artes, a splendid white-marble cultural hub, and the ornate Main Post Office, which were both designed by the Italian architect Adamo Boeri. Next, visit the National Museum of Anthropology. Its vast collections tell the story of Mexico's great civilisations. Tonight, visit the Hacienda de los Morales for an evening of traditional Mexican dining and gracious hospitality. The estate's history dates back to the 16th century, where mulberry trees were planted to breed silkworms, from which the name Los Morales is derived. BD Day 3. Mexico City. Today, a local archaeologist will guide you through Mexico's largest ancient city, Teotihuacan. Built between the 1st and 7th centuries, the holy metropolis is one of the most powerful cultural centres in Mesoamerica and is famous for its enormous monuments, including the Pyramid of the Sun and the Pyramid of the Moon. As you wander among the ruins, you'll be amazed at the sheer might of the Teotihuacan civilisation. Next, enjoy lunch at a nearby plantation before seeing the celebrated Catholic shrine, the Basilica of Guadalupe. BL Day 4. Puebla. As you approach the city of Puebla, pass by Cholula and see the Church of Our Lady of Remedies. The resplendent church is built atop a pyramid perched high on the mountain, appearing striking against the landscape. Nestled in the centre of Mexico and flanked by volcanoes, you'll be surprised by Puebla's relaxed atmosphere. During a tour, you'll see this beautiful colonial city is characterised by hundreds of buildings adorned with decorative tiles known as Talavera. But it is the cuisine for which the people of Puebla are the proudest. While here, perhaps sample a local favourite, mole poblano – a chocolate- tinged sauce made with chillies and spices. This evening, enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Stay: Puebla, Quinta Real. BD Day 5. Oaxaca. After breakfast, travel to the colourful city of Oaxaca. Arrive at your luxurious 16th-century hotel, where floral gardens, brilliant courtyards and serene fountains inspire. The romantic property was once the Convent of Santa Catalina de Siena with much of the original structure having been restored to its former glory. A tour of the city's sightseeing highlights begins with a journey along the charming pedestrian street, where you'll see the impressive cathedral and Convento de Santo Domingo. You'll learn why the Historic Centre has inspired so many artists and artisans alike, with local tradition still very much alive. Three Night Stay: Oaxaca, Quinta Real. BD Day 6.
