25 Day 10. Matiari, Mayapur. Like a Local – visit the brass-working village of Matiari. Here, learn about the process of brass beating and the heritage of this skill in such a rural area. Later, you'll reach Mayapur, a place of sacred significance to followers of the Hindu faith, as the birthplace of an important Hindu saint who promoted the worship of Krishna. Here, you'll see the new ISKCON temple which is currently being built by followers of the Krishna movement, an impressive structure that dominates the skyline of this spiritual town. BLD Day 11. Kalna. Cruise to the country town of Kalna, more commonly known as Ambika Kalna. Named for the Hindu goddess Kali, the surrounding area is home to many historical monuments, including over 100 Shiva temples. Like a Local – embark on a cycle rickshaw tour to discover some of these sites and admire some of Bengal's most unique temples. Later, continue to the magnificent Muslim shrine of Imambara. BLD Day 12. Chandannagar, Barrackpore. Pass the old Dutch settlement at Chinsura then arrive at Chandannagar. Here, you'll visit the 18th-century French church and Dupleix's House, now re-purposed as a museum. Continue to Barrackpore and disembark for a walk past the Semaphore Tower, Government House and Flagstaff House. BLD Day 13. Kolkata, Disembark Ship. Arrive in Kolkata and visit the bustling Flower Market. Afterwards, head to the home of the late Mother Teresa, before visiting the poignant Victoria Memorial.
