Vietnam at a Glance - Indochina 41 DAYS 1-2: DEPART THE US Depart on your overnight flight from the US to Vietnam. Upon arrival in Saigon, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. DAY 3: SAIGON View the French colonial architecture at Notre Dame Cathedral and the Central Post Office. Visit the Reunification Palace and War Remnants Museum and end the day at the lively Ben Thanh Market. (B, L, D) DAY 4: SAIGON – DAY TOUR TO MEKONG DELTA Travel to Ben Tre in the Mekong Delta and explore the river by boat, passing stilt houses and fish farms. Later, travel to Tay Ninh to experience the midday service at the head temple of the unique Cao Dai religion. (B, L, D) DAY 6: SAIGON TO HOI AN Fly to Danang and transfer to Hoi An, stopping at the Marble Mountains. An important trade route during the 15 th to 19 th centuries, Hoi An displays a unique blend of culture. Walk the ancient streets lined with Chinese traders' homes and local shops and explore the Japanese Covered Bridge. (B, L, D) DAY 7: HOI AN Drive to Tra Que, a small village supplying the many nearby restaurants and hotels with fresh produce. Enjoy lunch in the village before continuing to Cua Dai beach. (B, L, D) DAY 8: HOI AN TO HUE Drive over the scenic Hai Van Pass, passing the fishing village of Lang Co on the way to Hue and enjoy a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City. (B, L, D) DAY 9: HUE TO HANOI Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Royal Tomb of Minh Mang. Continue to Thien Mu Pagoda before cruising along the Perfume River. Fly to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. (B, L, D) DAY 10: HANOI Explore the Ho Chi Minh Quarter, a large complex of buildings, museums and pagodas. On to the Temple of Literature, followed by the bustling Old Quarter and a performance of the famous water puppets. (B, L, D) DAY 11: HANOI – DAY TRIP TO HALONG BAY Board a junk boat in "Vietnam's Crown Jewel," Halong Bay, for a relaxing cruise through the emerald waters and around the limestone islets, with a pleasant lunch on board.
