39 BURMA WITH VIETNAM & CAMBODIA CROSS INTO CAMBODIA Day 9. Tan Chau, Evergreen Island, Border Crossing. Board a small-boat and journey along the tiny tributaries that snake around Tan Chau. Arrive at Tan Chau and step ashore for a rickshaw tour. Later, visit an evergreen island and discover rural Mekong life. This afternoon, perhaps attend a fruit-carving demonstration while border formalities are carried out and you cross into Cambodia. BLD Day 10. Phnom Penh. Disembark in Phnom Penh and take a moving excursion to the infamous Killing Fields, before visiting the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. Here, you'll learn of the atrocities inflicted upon Cambodians during Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge regime. After lunch, a city tour of Phnom Penh takes you to the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda. BLD Day 11. Phnom Penh, Koh Chen Village. Enjoy some time at leisure this morning in Phnom Penh. Perhaps relax aboard your luxurious ship or discover Phnom Penh's Russian market. Later, cruise to remote Koh Chen village, a small village specialising in copperware. On arrival, visit a selection of home-workshops that manufacture beautiful handmade copper souvenirs. BLD Day 12. Oudong, Kampong Tralach. Arrive in Prek K'dam and travel by coach on a morning tour of Oudong, the royal capital of Cambodia from 1618 until 1866. Visit a monastery for a Buddha blessing experience. Afterwards, continue to Kampong Tralach for a visit to Wat Kampong Tralach Pleu before an ox-cart ride takes you through rice fields and a small village to rejoin your ship. BLD art and wares; browse local treasures as you embark on an enthralling shopping tour; or set out on a guided motorbike tour.
