Be met by an APT representative on arrival in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, a guided tour of Hanoi will take you to the city's most famous sites. Visit Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum, Ba Dinh Square and The Temple of Literature. You'll also enjoy a ride on a cyclo. This evening, meet your fellow travellers and APT Tour Director at a Welcome Briefing and Dinner. Two Night Stay: Hanoi, Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. D Day 2. Hanoi, Freedom of Choice. Choose from a range of activities today. Perhaps tour the 500 year-old village of Bat Trang and enjoy a pottery class; embark on a walking tour to see Hanoi's French Colonial architecture, then explore the interior of the Hanoi Opera House; or head for Thang Long Water Puppet Theatre and enjoy a traditional water puppet show. Other options include a visit to the home of a local artist, where you will see some of the artist's work, or a bicycle tour past Hanoi's rice paddy fields. Alternatively, you may prefer a foot massage at your hotel. This evening, choose from one of five different but equally superb restaurants for dinner. BD EXPERIENCE HA LONG BAY Day 3. Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay. Travel by coach to Ha Long and embark your luxurious three-day cruise on World Heritage-listed Ha Long Bay. Set sail among thousands of spectacular limestone islets. After lunch, travel by small boat to Sung Sot Cave, filled with stalactites. Absorb the magnificent bay views from viewing platforms at the top of the cave, then enjoy guided kayaking or swimming later. Two Night Stay: Ha Long Bay, The Au Co. BLD Day 4. Bai Tu Long Bay, Lan Ha Bay. Perhaps enjoy Tai Chi on the Sun Deck this morning. Later, visit Vung Vieng floating fishing village by traditional bamboo boat. After lunch take a guided biking or walking excursion in the national park of Cat Ba Island and visit the Au Co organic farm. Tonight, perhaps try your hand at squid fishing with the crew. BLD DISCOVER HO CHI MINH CITY Day 5. Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). Delight in a Vietnamese tea ceremony before returning to shore.
