www.paradisesonline.com 3 Reflexology Reflexology is one of the oldest healing arts and was practiced by the ancient Egyptians, Indians, and Chinese. The basic concept of reflexology is based on the belief that the reflex points in the feet and hands are directly associated with the rest of the organs in the body. Reflexology applies pressure to the feet and hands with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques without the use of oils or lotions. Indian Head Massage Indian Head Massage originated in India over 1000 years ago and was initially a way of keeping the hair in good condition. Based on the ancient healing system of Ayurveda, it works on the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp, ears and face. The areas are massaged using firm yet gentle, rhythmic movements that involve acupressure points. Ayurvedic oils were traditionally used in this form of massage, though now optional. The technique uses controlled movements, with a strong effect on the three higher chakras—the mind, body and spirit. Thai Massage Practiced in Thailand for around 2500 years, Thai massage is often referred to as Lazy Man's Yoga. Based on the theory of unblocking the energy flow in the body, it combines rhythmic compressions with deep yoga-style stretches. For those who aren't so flexible, don't worry—your session will be tailored to suit your level of flexibility. Aromatherapy Massage Pairing two blissful ancient alternative healing modalities—Aromatherapy and Massage Therapy, Aromatherapy Massage is carried out to relieve tension, reduce pain and inflammation, aid digestion, and soothe the mind, body and soul. Using one or more scented plant oils called essential oils, Aromatherapy Massage is tailored to address individual needs and concerns.
