The homestead, which was constructed from Edinburgh
stone brought to Australia as maritime ballast, showcases original features such as the Gothic-style cedar staircase, the slate flagged entrance hall and cedar buffet, and the stone cellars. Each suite is named after a previous or present owner,
including the late Kerry Packer. Mine is the classically and stylishly decorated Stephen King Suite, which has a large, comfortable bed and an ensuite with a huge spa bath. One of the highlights of staying at Kingsford Homestead
is soaking in the outdoor bathtub, which is located in a private nook by the river. Lying in the tub, surrounded by nature, it's hard to believe you're just an hour's drive from Adelaide.
