"My fondest memory of Adam is of how shy he was when I first met him," says Max. "At the behest of his parents, he was obliged to show me his paintings so I could assess whether he had talent or not. I said he did, so they allowed him to attend art school. "I felt close to Adam. He was very well informed about art, he had strong opinions and he had a deep love of Australia and of our family history." Despite the controversy that his artworks caused, there's no denying the greatness of this contemporary Australian artist who pushed the boundaries and paved the way for future artists.
