sheila I news MUSIC THE XX Coexist The xx snapped into existence in 2009 bringing with them a unique, haunting and seductive sound and an album that opened up the space between notes allowing you to drift in and out like some opium dream. So does more expansive and more space between the notes to savour. It's the underlying beats on this album that has progressed Coexist is a wonderful new story from The xx. DYLAN Tempest BOB In his 50th year in the business Dylan is back with an album that from the sixties and seventies. As one of rock's greatest lyricist renowned for his poetry Dylan's later albums lacked this quintessential element. Not so with Tempest, Dylan's pen must have been on are alive with human emotion, from dark lamentations to punchy jokes; wild landscapes and storms a raging. Tempest, 16 SHEILA SPRING 2012 his 35th album, has brought Dylan full circle from his poster boy days as a social protester uniting the youth for change in society to a Deep South preacher who the tale. PRESETS THE The third album from the seriously talented Australian duo sees a shift from their hugely successful albums, 'Beams' and 'Apocalyspo'. They 'brought the house down' when Steve Yollam gives the low down on his pick of the season's new tunes. they played the closing set at Coachella 2011. So what has changed; a move from the sublimely moody sounds created alone album, which is refreshing in that, it's not more of the same. The Presets have truly reinvented themselves with stunning results. BRAUN Through The Devils Wood Through The Devils Wood is Naomi NAOMI talented young lady, who opened her own clothing boutique in Melbourne as a means to fund her passion for music. Her dream realised, she presents eleven eclectic beat –driven songs. 'Lotek' (Hilltop Hoods, Roots Manuva) co – produces this album alongside Naomi. The result is a heart driven work of art. Naomi voice dances thru this album shifting and changing to evoke an almost cinematic landscape. Delve into Devils Wood, you won't be disappointed you might even catch glimpse of Portishead and Santigold or even some reggae masters. Impressive! ACES Dollars (EP) Didn't know what to make of this EP THE 80 bad or really good. I wasn't familiar with the boys from Warrnambool. I am now, and I am loving it. This is an impressive noisy, it's poppy and it rocks. Recorded and produced by Steve Schram (San Cisco, Cat Empire). They also rock a live set, look out for 'The 80 Aces'.
