Joanne's Top five fashion
blogging tips: 1. When you're starting out - have a bit of a plan. Identify what your focus and point of difference will be or at least what the topics you want to write about are (whether that's fashion, food, DIY, and so on). Doing this will help you be clear about what you're doing, and your readers will be able to see and understand that. 2. Customise your blog's design and use a custom domain name. This is your brand, so it's important it looks and feels like you! 3. Post regularly! This is so important - and yes, it can be hard. Blogs are hungry creatures and must be fed very, very often. A little trick I've found useful in the past has been setting up an editorial calendar. The idea is to give yourself a steady stream of ideas and content to fall back on - which means no more 'what should I write about today?' moments! 4. Incorporate visuals into your blog as often as you can. If you haven't noticed, we're all currently obsessed with pretty pictures! If you can afford it, invest in a DSLR camera. Otherwise, invest your time into sourcing quality images or editing your own. 5. Take 'social networking' seriously, and by that I mean actually network with other bloggers and people in the industry. Don't be afraid to get out of your comfort zone and put yourself out there. Introduce yourself and meet new people. It can be totally rewarding!

In her downtime of fantasizing about the more glamorous cities of Melbourne, Stockholm, and New York City Joanne came up with joannefaith.com (Faith is her middle name) in early 2010 as an experiment in fashion blogging. "I'd been creating websites since I was about 13 years old and creating a blog around fashion seemed like the natural 'next step'. Today this blog has become a way to document my style and share what I find inspiring. I'm 23 and when I'm not blogging I'm busy working in a little digital advertising agency called Young & Shand. I spend the rest of my free time brunching, baking, or taking fitness classes at my local Les Mills."
