WHAT IS YOUR ALL TIME FAVOURITE CUPCAKE CREATION? The best tasting cupcake we have ever made would have to be our lemon curd cupcakes. It consists of a moist lemon cupcake based, filled with tangy lemon curd and lemon cream cheese frosting – definitely not for the faint hearted. Everything is made from scratch of course. Our most popular cupcake flavours would have to be our "berry berry vanilla" cupcakes (vanilla base and raspberry frosting) and "mint slice of heaven" cupcakes (chocolate base + mint chocolate frosting). The best decorated cupcakes we have ever made would have to be the fashion themed cupcakes we made for Unwrapped (Angelo Street, South Perth) in 2011. The cupcakes were chocolate flavoured with bright red frosting and topped off with an edible fashion medallion. Over 100 cupcakes were made and decorated especially with Unwrapped in mind. TELL US ABOUT CAKE POPS AND TOPPERS ? Cake pops is a relatively new craze. A blogger by the name of Bakerella came up with this wonderful concept of cake pops. Basically it is a cake on a stick decorated using candy melts or chocolate. You can decorate the cake pops however you like! When we first came across the idea, we thought it would be a great product range for kids. However, we have found that adults love cake pops just as much. Cupcake toppers are basically the decoration you put on top of a cupcake. We hand make all the cupcake toppers from fondant. We can make fondant toppers for any occasion and to cater to any theme. Our cupcake toppers range includes, cute animal themed toppers to more pop culture toppers such Downton Abbey themed toppers, which received a response from the official Downton Abbey twitter account after seeing my Downton Abbey themed cupcakes! Our fondant toppers are quite popular and we believe this is because baking is so popular right now and everyone loves to bake. And let's be honest, everyone claims that they can make a pretty mean cupcake or two and we are sure that they can. Purchasing our toppers allows people to make their cupcake at home but to decorate their cupcakes professionally with one of our unique handmade toppers. And for the people who prefer to avoid the fuss completely, they can simply order a batch of cupcakes and choose their desired toppers from us. WHERE CAN YOU GET TOP THE CUPCAKES? At present, I do not have a store front. Top the Cupcake operates as a home business in Tuart Hill. We have made appearances at a few markets this year "Cupcake toppers are basically the decoration you PUT ON TOP OF A CUPCAKE" such as Unwrapped, Vintage Vixen and Fair, and Upmarket. We hope to be involved in more markets like these in the future. We accept orders through our website and liaise with clients over the internet or more traditionally over the telephone. Ideally, we love catering for events such as parties (both kids and adults), baby showers, engagement and weddings. We particularly enjoy catering themed parties! There is nothing better than attending a party with everything themed, including the food. We are currently expanding our business to include a baked goods buffet, consisting of cakes, cupcakes, macarons, iced biscuits, rock candy and caramel popcorn. So please, watch this space.
