sheila I news LISTEN MISSY HIGGINS The Old Razzle Dazzle The Old Razzle Dazzle is the third and much anticipated album from Missy. Five years in the making or more like five years from her meltdown in 2007 where she walked away from music and not a peep to be seen or heard, The Old Razzle Dazzle is experimental and delivers a hotpot of soulful blues, country and pop. Higgins draws you into her world, very personal and heartfelt. It's a tale of the journey she has taken since 2007, very raw. The album definitely dazzles and has been received with sell out shows. The Old Razzle Dazzle truly reflects the comeback of a singer from the curse of success and high expectations. PUMPKINS Oceania SMASHING The Smashing Pumpkins lead singer Billy Corgan is a man who knows what he likes, regardless of the mob. He does what he wants and this energy is what drives the Pumpkins. Oceania is their first album since 2007. Corgan is now the last man standing from the original line up with the departure of Jimmy Chamberlin in 2009. The Smashing Pumpkins has always been about Corgan he penned the name before there was a band. So with 26 SHEILA JULY 2012 a whole new line up Oceania hits the spot with huge guitars and drums always pulsing forward. This is a well-crafted album and like all good Smashing Pumpkins; strap your self in for an epic journey. Synthetica METRIC Metric has always been at odds, a band that could hook you in with addictive pop sounds while educating whoever was listening with politically enlightened indie rock. so now with their fifth album synthetica, Steve Yallom shares his picks of music's must-have new releases. self released expect change. A dystopian fog has settled taking you to darker places and at the same time 'the pop' keeps raising its head to be heard. In no way a rehash of previous work Synthetica is unique; taste and see for yourself. STONE By the horns JULIA This is the second offering from Julia Stones solo career and brings a maturity not heard previously. Like most of us, this aussie girl has had her fair share of pain, which permeates this album. Again this is a clear separation from the brother and sister duo that is 'Julia and Angus Stone', allowing her the space to sing from the heart and exposing her vulnerability. Unlike her first solo album amidst the domination of 'Julia and Angus' this album dots its I's and crosses its T's, think production – crisp clean sounds. That being said, it's not all clean on the album, there are some clumpy moments, but hey no one's perfect! GERMAIN Tourist (Remastered) ST Deluxe Version With over 3 million albums sold since 2000 this iconic album has been rereleased digitally for the first time ever and remastered for vinyl. If you think you haven't heard this album, think again! There's hardly a restaurant, club or fashion show that the sounds of 'Tourist" haven't graced. Tourist is a kaleidoscope of all that's good with 'electronica', infusing and blending Blues, Jazz, hip-hop and Latin. Tourist is the creation of veteran French DJ and producer st Germain. (Ludovic Navarre) This is definitely one album for the collection, my favorites are track 1 Rose Rouge and track 3 'So Flute' - enjoy.
