In China 25 percent of traffic fatalities are pedestrians. In Europe the figure is 14 percent and in the USA 12 percent. Far larger numbers of pedestrians are injured. Those who took part in the study listened to a variety of engine sounds from a number of cars, and after hearing the Maserati engine, all of the female test subjects had higher testosterone levels in their blood. High testosterone levels in the blood can be indicative of a stirred libido. Logically, to bring its stimulating properties to those who can't afford a new Maserati, the company is now offering the engine sound as a downloadable ring tone for cell phones. But the idea that women cannot park is simply untrue, according to research indicating that female drivers are more adept than men at manoeuvring into a space. Covert surveillance of car parks across Britain has shown that while women may take longer to park, they are more likely to leave their vehicles in the middle of a bay. Source: The Telegraph Ford-ward thinking Ford, like many other auto manufacturers, has embraced NFC key fobs, allowing you to unlock your car without fiddling with pesky keys. And to demonstrate it, they created one of the most awesome password tools for computers ever. Ford Keyfree is a Chrome extension that stores passwords for Facebook, Google, and Twitter, then whenever you're near your Mac using a pre-approved smartphone, the app can "unlock" these sites automatically via Bluetooth. Your phone serves as your ID, thanks to the unique identifiers already in Bluetooth. Source: Co.Design www.hermagazine.co.nz | 75
