Her Magazine congratulates the following female award recipients and new appointments: Rose Voice An ambitious woman's desire to run a successful business and raise her children in a small rural community was rewarded at the Rural Women New Zealand's National Conference in Taranaki. Rose Voice, the owner of The Real Dog Equipment Company Ltd in Maniototo, Ranfurly, took home two awards, including the Fly Buys Online Business Award and the RWNZ Enterprising Rural Women Award 2012. Source: Sputnik Lynn McKenzie In Torino, Italy Lynn McKenzie received the prestigious honour of becoming President of Zonta International, the first New Zealander to achieve this office. Founded in 1919, Zonta is an international service organisation that works to advance the status of women. With more than 30,000 members belonging to more than 1,200 Zonta Clubs in 63 countries, Zontians all over the world volunteer their time, talents and support to local and international service projects, as well as scholarship programmes aimed at fulfilling Zonta's mission and objectives. Source: Zonta Alison Clarke and Diane Hurford Alison Clarke is the Chief Executive Officer of ENSID Technologies Ltd, which won the 'Baldwins Intellectual Property Best Use of Commercialisation of Innovation' award at the Air New Zealand Cargo ExportNZ Auckland Awards 2012. The judges said: "ENSID's strength is its specialised, design engineering capability. Having developed the world's first food-safe, polymeric RFID (radio frequency identification barcode system), initially for use in marine environments, the company has identified other identity tag needs and developed applications to suit a wide range of industries. Diane Hurford created Brolly Sheets Ltd, which was a finalist in the awards category of 'TNT Express Emerging Exporter of the Year'. The judges said: "Brolly Sheets are pioneers in waterproof bed linen, which provides a quick and easy solution for changing a wet bed. Considerable staff involvement and communication was evident at all levels, including customers, product development, quality control, suppliers and logistics." Roseanne Liang, Rachel Taulelei, Qiujing Wong The outstanding leadership of seven New Zealanders was recognised in the Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards. Included in the recipients were: Roseanne Liang, Filmmaker and Director; Rachel Taulelei, Founder and Managing Director, Yellow Brick Road Ltd and Qiujing Wong, CEO, Borderless Productions. The awards were presented by the Governor General, Lt Gen Rt Hon Sir Jerry Mateparae, at the Auckland Art Gallery. Chair of the Sir Peter Blake Leadership Awards selection panel, Sir Ron Carter, said the Awards recognise the achievements of outstanding New Zealand leaders who, like Sir Peter Blake, dared to dream and worked hard to reach their goals.
