You'll also see the White House and visit the National Mall, home to such attractions as the Washington Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the Martin Luther King Memorial and several war memorials – including the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the National World War II Memorial. After the tour, enjoy leisure time. B Day 13. Washington DC, Philadelphia, New York City. Depart Washington DC for Philadelphia, one of the largest cities in the United States, and known as the birthplace of American democracy. Here, a city tour includes the Liberty Bell, as well as a visit to Independence Hall, where America's founding fathers signed the Declaration of Independence. Afterwards, the bright lights of New York City beckon. Reach your hotel in Midtown Manhattan and enjoy your first dinner amid the city centre. Three Night Stay: InterContinental New York Barclay. BD THE BIG APPLE Day 14. New York City. New York's famous districts and iconic landmarks are yours to discover today. Sports fans, meanwhile, will jump at the chance to join a behind-the-scenes tour of Yankee Stadium. You then have the afternoon at leisure before dinner this evening. BD BOSTON – THE CRADLE OF LIBERTY Day 16. New York City, Newport, Boston. Snake along the coast to Rhode Island and the city of Newport, a well-known East Coast summer vacation destination. Here, visit The Breakers, one of the famous Newport Mansions. Inspired by 16th-century Italian palaces, it was once a vacation 'cottage' of Cornelius Vanderbilt II and is today worth in excess of $100 million. After a tour, continue on to Boston. With a free evening, step out and embrace all that this innovative city has to offer – art, architecture, sports and food. Two Night Stay: Boston, The Fairmont Copley Plaza. B Day 17. Boston. Set out on a city tour, taking you to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Boston Common, the Bull & Finch Pub from the TV show Cheers, Harvard University and more. Prince Edward Island. Arrive in the city of Charlottetown on picturesque Prince Edward Island, which is the smallest Canadian province by both population and size. Enjoy time at leisure or perhaps take a trip to the Anne of Green Gables homestead (own expense). BLD Day 23. At Sea. Enjoy the beauty of New England's maritime landscapes during a full day at sea.
