Take in the spectacular coastal views or relax and enjoy the onboard facilities. BLD Day 16. Ketchikan. Arrive at the city of Ketchikan, set right on the shores of the Tongass Narrows. Ketchikan acts as a gateway to a wide variety of attractions, including Misty Fjords National Monument – one of America's largest wilderness areas. It is also known as the 'Salmon Capital of the World', and can also lay claim to being the home of the world's largest collection of standing totem poles. BLD Day 17. Tracy Arm, Juneau. Cruise past the entrance to the Tracy Arm fjord then disembark to explore Alaska's capital city, Juneau, which is set at the foot of grand mountain peaks on the Gastineau Channel. Juneau has a strong gold rush history, with gold first discovered by prospectors here in 1880. Its incredible prospecting and beautiful scenery has been drawing visitors here since the early 1900s. There's much to see and do in Juneau, with the town boasting great fishing, wildlife spotting, and many other outdoor activities amid the stunning landscape. BLD Day 18. Skagway. Arrive in Skagway at the northernmost point of the Inside Passage. Once a gateway city for the Klondike Gold Rush, Skagway's frontier-style atmosphere remains evident today. Never failing to intrigue visitors with its wide range of historic buildings and stories to be told, there are a variety of unique excursions on offer for you to explore at your leisure (own expense). BLD Day 19. Glacier Bay National Park. Wake up to the sight of World Heritage-listed Glacier Bay National Park, which boasts more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anywhere else in the world. As you cruise through the park and take in the rivers of ice and skyscraping peaks, you'll benefit from the commentary of rangers who have come aboard to explain the wonders and point out some of the wildlife. Humpback and grey whales, as well as orcas, are known to grace these waters frequently, so be sure to keep watch for that tell-tale ripple beneath the water. Also look for harbor seals and sea otters slipping in and out of the icy water. BLD Day 20. College Fjord. Today you'll cruise through College Fjord, with its five stunning tidewater glaciers, five large valley glaciers and many smaller glaciers, most of which were named after Ivy League schools. BLD EXPLORE ALASKA BY LAND Day 21. Whittier, Disembark Ship, Anchorage, Cooper Landing. Today, you may like to get out amid nature and explore the quaint community of Cooper Landing. Perhaps take part in a hands-on gold panning demonstration with local prospector John. Alternatively, embark on a nature hike along a trail used by gold prospectors 100 years ago or enjoy a float trip on the Kenai River. B Day 23. Cooper Landing, Denali (Mt McKinley). Two Night Stay: Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge. BLD Day 25. Denali National Park. Experience the breathtaking beauty of Denali National Park on a Tundra Wilderness Tour as you try to spot moose, caribou, eagles, wolves, grizzly bears and other wildlife known to call the region home. Discover the extraordinary landscapes of the Alaskan tundra as you journey in the shadow of 'The Great One', the towering snow- capped peak of Denali, which is the highest mountain peak in North America. At 6,194 metres in height, it can be difficult to catch a completely clear view. Its jagged peaks, however, are known to peek through the mist at any moment. Will today be your lucky day? Refreshed by the pure Alaskan air you'll look forward to a free evening. Perhaps you'll head back out to explore on your own unless you choose to relax and enjoy the facilities at your lodge.
