See pages 8 & 9 for tour route map and more information. Day 1 We recommend that you plan to arrive around mid-day. Swiss Travel and car rental representatives will meet you upon arrival at Liberia Airport. Your journey begins with a scenic two-hour drive in your 4WD rental car to the Celeste River, near the Tenorio Volcano National Park. Check into Celeste Mountain Lodge (or similar hotel) for one night. Day 2 Take a morning hike to the Celeste River or visit Bijagua Village to discover true Costa Rican rural life. Later, drive to the Arenal area (about 1 1 ⁄2 hours). Check in at Casa Luna Hotel (or similar hotel) for two nights. Day 3 Day at leisure to visit optional attractions including Arenal Volcano National Park, La Fortuna Waterfall, Canopy Tour and the Hanging Bridges. Day 4 Enjoy a beautiful drive bordering the Arenal Lake to the Monteverde Cloud Forest area. Check-in at Trapp Family Lodge (or similar hotel) for two nights. Day 5 Day at your leisure to enjoy options such as the Monteverde and Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserves, the Hummingbird Gallery, Butterfly Farm, Serpentarium and the Sky Trek through the forest canopy and bridges. Day 6 Descend to the lowlands of Guanacaste and Tamarindo Beach. Check in at Tamarindo Diria Hotel (or similar hotel) for two nights. Day 7 Day at leisure. Enjoy the beach, canopy tours, river rafting, hiking or fishing. Visit Rincón de la Vieja National Park's active volcano and thermal mud baths. Day 8 Departure. Drive to Liberia Airport and drop off your rental car mid-morning. Note: Automatic vehicles available (extra cost). Family option with two double rooms and full-size automatic SUV (Toyota Prado or similar vehicle) also available.
