A CHINA EXPERIENCE 10-DAY ITINERARY, CLASSIC TOUR This classic itinerary visits the three most famous cities of China. From the futuristic city of Shanghai, the charming town of Zhujiajiao, and the fascinating Terracotta Warriors in Xian to China's capital city Beijing, this tour covers the essentials in one concise and memorable itinerary. DAY 1: DEPART THE U.S. Depart on your overnight flight from the U.S. to China. DAY 2: ARRIVE SHANGHAI Upon arrival in Shanghai, be met and transferred to your hotel. DAY 3: SHANGHAI – DAY TOUR TO ZHUJIAJIAO Visit the ancient water town of Zhujiajiao and take a leisurely stroll to absorb the atmosphere of this centuries-old Chinese town. Home to an intricate system of canals, old wooden waterside houses, arched- stone bridges, narrow cobblestone streets, and an abundance of local handicrafts, Zhujiajiao is renowned for its old world charm and picturesque setting. Return to Shanghai and enjoy a dinner of traditional cuisine. (B, L, D) DAY 4: SHANGHAI Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens and the Old Town, as well as a visit to see the superb antiquities and fine arts of the Shanghai Museum, which houses over 120,000 pieces of bronze, coins, jade, ceramics, paintings, and calligraphy. Walk along the colonial architecture of the famous Bund, and explore the restored Xintiandi area with its unique 1920s-style shikumen buildings. Later, indulge in some shopping along Nanjing Road. In the evening, enjoy a cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River, where the historic Bund and the futuristic Pudong come face to face. (B, L, D) DAY 5: SHANGHAI TO XIAN Fly to Xian, the former ancient capital. This evening, sample a traditional Shui Jiao dumpling meal, followed by a performance of Tang Dynasty dancing. (B, L, D) DAY 6: XIAN Visit one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the 20 th century, the Terracotta Warriors. The figures were created 2,000 years ago to accompany Qin Shihuang into the afterlife. You will also walk along the ancient city wall. (B, L, D) DAY 7: XIAN TO BEIJING Start the day with a visit to the renowned Shaanxi Museum, which is home to thousands of priceless relics. Explore the lively Muslim Quarter to explore the Islamic food markets. Later, fly to Beijing, China's capital.
