ANTIGUA
The Beach is Just
the Beginning…
With a unique beach for every day of the year, it's not
difficult to be wowed anew in the largest of the British
Leeward Islands. A winding coastline sets the scene for
sunsets made even more breathtaking after a 1,200-
foot elevated hike or a ride on Fig Tree Drive through
wild mango and almond tree canopies. Come back
down to earth in secret spots like Bryant Cave, and
kayak among improbably whistling ducks and flying fish
while rare fallow deer gaze curiously from the shores.
However, taking to Antigua's water is instinctual.
To the south, English Harbour—site of the world's
only Georgian naval dockyard—and Falmouth are
international yachting and sailing destinations; in the
north, cruisers look forward to stopping in St. John, one
of the most cosmopolitan municipalities in the Lesser
Antilles. And if frigate birds are all the company you
want, Barbuda's just a high-speed catamaran ride away.
