Travel by Car - The use of a private vehicle gives the greatest flexibility for touring the region. Head south from Perth in your own vehicle. Alternatively hire cars are available from the Domestic and International Airports or a number of city centre outlets. Travel by Coach/Bus - South West Coach Lines buses depart daily from the City Bus Port, with connections from the Domestic and International Airports. Alternatively, TransWA buses operate a service from the East Perth Terminal. Travel by Plane - SkyWest flies to and from Perth twice weekly to the Busselton Airport, through to Albany and return. Travel by Private Charter - Chartered tours and flights can be arranged from Perth. DRIVInG In aUSTRaLIa If you wish to drive in Australia you must hold a valid international driving permit accompanied by the driver's license issued in the country you live in. Australians drive on the left side of two-way roads. ExpLORInG You can also choose from a diverse range of organised or private tours and taxi services to help you discover our hidden treasures. If you're an intrepid traveller you can enjoy beautiful coastal and inland trails on foot, by bike or even on horseback. Other parts of the region are waiting to be explored by scooter, watercraft and even by abseiling! whEn TO GO The mild Mediterranean climate makes the region a year round choice for holiday makers. In summer, temperatures rarely rise above 32 degrees centigrade. Although much wetter, winter and springtime enjoy mild temperatures that average around 16 to 18 degrees during the day and 9 to 11 degrees at night. Each season reveals different aspects to appreciate. In summer the stunning beaches seduce swimmers and kite surfers. In winter, they're graced with a passing parade of whales. Autumn sees a flurry of arts and wine-inspired events. In spring, the wildflowers put on their own dazzling show. It is 1 ½ hours behind Adelaide and Darwin and two hours behind the eastern coast of Australia, except from October to March when most other states advance their clocks forward an hour to daylight savings time. SERVICES Throughout the region there is readily available access to emergency and convenience services including pharmacies, banking, fuel stations, supermarkets and a range of quality retail outlets.
