Two nights here are more than enough to start your trip off right. DAY 2: Fairbanks Sightseeing & Chena River Cruise Today's tour will take you through the town and into the Fairbanks Museum, with free time to shop and dine before embarking on a cruise of the Chena River on a traditional riverboat. (B) DAY 3: Denali National Park Your wildlife adventure begins here, with an afternoon at leisure to settle into your base for the next two nights; partake in a complimentary park service activity; or take on optional river rafting, flight-seeing, or jet boat safari; or tour an Iditarod champion's award-winning dog kennel. (B) DAY 4: Tundra Wilderness Tour A full day—six to eight hours—will provide ample opportunity to spot bears, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep in their natural habitats while in- depth narration makes sure you don't miss a thing. Please note that early May and September tours may be shortened due to road conditions. (B, S) DAY 5: Alaska Railroad Spend the morning as you like, then meet to board the world-famous Alaska Railroad to Anchorage, where you'll be staying for the next two nights. Keep your eyes open for the majestic Mt. McKinley, and see if you can spot a black bear along the banks of the Susitna River. (B) DAY 6: Anchorage & Alaskan Traditions A brief city tour acquaints you with this popular destination, and a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center provides an even deeper glimpse into the culture of this remarkable land. An Alaskan-style, social dinner lets you end your journey on a high note with your companions.
