Arrive New York City. Once you have arrived in New York City, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Three Night Stay: New York City, The Westin New York Grand Central. Day 2. New York City. During a guided tour of Manhattan this morning, take in the landmarks of New York including the bustling Fifth Avenue; vibrant Times Square; Broadway's glitzy Theatre District; and the Lincoln Center, which is home to The Metropolitan Opera, The New York City Ballet and The New York Philharmonic Orchestra. You'll also see Greenwich Village, the former bohemian capital of the city; artistic Soho; and the Financial District including Wall Street. Tonight, enjoy a Welcome Dinner with your fellow guests. BD Day 3. New York City. This morning, you'll cruise to the United States' icon of freedom, the Statue of Liberty, which was a gift from the French to the people of America. You'll also visit Ellis Island, a former gateway for millions of immigrants coming to live in the USA. This afternoon is yours at leisure to soak up the sights and sounds of New York, arguably the world's most famous city. Perhaps explore the expansive gardens of Central Park; go shopping at the city's famed department stores; or wander New York's varied neighbourhoods with their own international flavours, such as Chinatown and Little Italy. B Day 4. Boston. Journey to Boston today, and along the way visit The Mark Twain House & Museum at Hartford, which was home to the author and his family from 1874 to 1891. This National Historic Landmark was where the author penned some of his most treasured works, including Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Upon arrival in Boston, settle in to your luxurious downtown hotel. Two Night Stay: Boston, The Fairmont Copley Plaza. BD Day 5. Boston. Head out after breakfast and enjoy a guided city tour of Boston, one of America's oldest cities and the cultural hub of New England. During your tour, you will visit the famed Faneuil Hall Marketplace which was built in 1742; Boston Common, the oldest city park in the United States; the Bull & Finch Pub from the TV show Cheers and much more. You'll also enjoy the opportunity to visit Harvard University and explore the grounds. Afterwards, explore the Boston Tea Party Ship & Museum. This floating museum houses an array of interactive exhibits which document what's considered one of American history's most important events. B Day 6. Providence, Embark New England Islands Cruise. Journey to the port of Providence where you will board the boutique American Star and set off on your New England Islands cruise. Settle in to your Stateroom before a Welcome Dinner. Seven Night Cruise: American Star, stay in a spacious Picture Window Stateroom. BLD Day 7. New Bedford. This morning, you'll enjoy a visit to the New Bedford Whaling Museum, the largest museum dedicated to the history of whaling in North America. A knowledgeable guide will take you for a tour through the museum's many exhibits and provide an unrivalled insight into the industry that established and shaped the town in its early years. This afternoon, you'll embark on a cruise to the historic New Bedford/New Haven Harbor. Along the way, you'll sail past the highlights of the region like historic Palmer's Island Lighthouse; see the largest hurricane barrier on the East Coast, Fort Phoenix, which was built during the American Revolution; and watch a local fishing fleet at work. BLD Day 8. Nantucket Island. Travel back to the 19th century with a visit to idyllic Nantucket Island. Once home to sea-faring captains, whalers, and their families, Nantucket's population swells during the summer months with an influx of seasonal residents. While here, learn about the history of this charming summer colony during a tour. Later, journey through the picturesque village of Siasconset, and admire its rose-covered cottages. BLD Day 9. Martha's Vineyard. Today, embark on a tour of the picturesque island of Martha's Vineyard. As you explore the landscape, you'll see the historic Edgartown; Oaks Bluff, with its cute gingerbread-like cottages; Vineyard Haven; and West Tisbury.
