Håfa Adai, Tirow, Alii, Lenwo, Mogethin, Kaselehlie, Ran Annim & Iakwe! Welcome to Micronesia – a tranquil, idyllic region in the western Pacific Ocean comprised of thousands of islands, Micronesia is widely acclaimed for its natural beauty and one-of-a-kind geographical, historical and cultural features. Meaning "many small islands", Micronesia has become synonymous with sunny skies, a crystal clear ocean, island hospitality and adventure. Although Micronesian cultures share some common characteristics, each island holds unique, mesmerizing qualities that can only be found in this part of the world. Boasting rich regional diversity – from heritage, culture and history to food, recreation and entertainment – visitors to Micronesia can soak in the beautiful atolls of the Marshall Islands, explore the ancient stone city of Nan Madol in Pohnpei, witness Yap's mystical stone money, dive among Chuuk's historical shipwreck lagoons and swim with millions of golden jellyfish in Palau's Jellyfish lake. Micronesia also features pristine pre-historic Ka Forest in Kosrae, breathtaking beaches in the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands and the world renown Marianas Trench, which is the deepest part of the world's oceans, plunging nearly 7 miles down to the ocean floor and located about 200 miles southwest of Guam. We invite you to discover more by visiting Micronesia's official travel and tourism website www.MicronesiaTour.com for information about the region. We are also delighted to share that Guam will host the 12 th Festival of the Pacific Arts and Culture (FESTPAC) in 2016. FESTPAC will bring delegations from 27 Pacific Island Nations and Territories, along with about 2,500 performers, artists and cultural practitioners to share and exchange their unique culture from May 22 nd to June 4 th , 2016. Known as the "Olympics of Cultural Events in the Pacific", FESTPAC is held every four years throughout the Pacific and brings together people from around the Oceania for this two week celebration. For more information on FESTPAC 2016, please visit www.guamfestpac2016.com. Micronesia has something in store for everyone. We invite you to experience the warmth and beauty of our islands. Sincerely, Pilar Laguaña PATA Micronesia Chapter Chairperson
