CULINARY OF THE CAPE - FOOD & WINE GOURMET SAFARI (9 DAYS/8 NIGHTS) DAY 1: Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met and greeted by your local tour guide. Then, transfer to the Southern Sun Cullinan Hotel for a three night stay. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure. DAY 2: After breakfast, you will meet your guide at a hotel reception to commence an interactive Cape Malay cooking safari. Experience a hands-on cooking workshop in a local family home and enjoy a mug of faloodah. After the cooking safari, you will enjoy a city orientation tour, visiting the Castle of Good Hope, and Table Mountain. This evening, depart the hotel for an entertaining dinner experience at Richard Super Stage & Bistro. DAY 3: Set out to commence your full day of touring the Cape Peninsula. Today, you will experience the scenic Chapman's Peak Drive. Then, arrive at Cape Point, where you will take the funicular and witness the meeting of the two oceans—the Atlantic and the Indian—better known as Cape of Good Hope. Enjoy lunch at Black Marlin in Simon's Town, then travel through the historic naval base of Simon's Town, where you will be able to visit a colony of African "Jackass" Penguins at Boulders Beach. Return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. DAY 4: This morning, check out of the hotel and meet your guide for departure to the Winelands. Enjoy a scenic and historic drive through the local wine regions in the Western Cape. For a delicious alternative to the regular wine tasting, you will indulge in a cheese and wine experience. Afterwards, take part in a tour of the Babylonstoren Garden, then it's off to the exclusive Cap Classique at Haute Cabrière. Have lunch in the Valley, and then prepare for a visit to the Waterford Estate in Stellenbosch for a chocolate and wine pairing. End your day by checking into your hotel, The Oude Werf, for a two night stay, and enjoy the remainder of the evening at leisure. DAY 5: After breakfast, begin your day with the Classic Cape Cuisine Walk. Today, you will have the opportunity to explore Stellenbosch on foot. Sample traditional Cape food and wine as your culinary guide leads you through the historic heart of Stellenbosch, with its splendid buildings and colorful characters. After your tour, the rest of the day is at your leisure. DAY 6: After breakfast, guests will meet their guide and depart on a transfer to Cape Town International Airport for their connecting flight to Port Elizabeth Airport (flight costs is not included). Upon arrival at the airport, guests will be met and transferred to the Amakhala Safari lodge for your three night accommodations. This afternoon, embark on your first game drives into the bush, accompanied by your experienced ranger, in 4x4 open safari vehicles. After your game drive, dinner will be enjoyed back at the lodge. DAYS 7-8: Feel the heartbeat and rhythm of Africa as you become part of a Big 5 Safari Adventure on Amakhala Game Reserve. Morning and evening game drives by experienced rangers through Amakhala Game Reserve will leave you in awe of the diverse vegetation and spectacular scenery which abounds here. Enjoy cuisine that excites the palate and leaves you needing to explore true African culture, hosted by local staff that is willing to attend to your every need. DAY 9: You will enjoy your last game activity this morning, before returning to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.
