A similar system operates inside the restored hull. Replicas of the original engines are in place, and the various classes of accommodation have been faithfully recreated. Her masts, rigging and upper deck layout have been restored to depict, as well as possible, the way she was originally. The hull is in a very fragile state, with some parts rusted so badly that daylight can be seen through it in many places. A large museum alongside houses artefacts, displays, plans, pictures and other items relating to her history and salvage. Nearby, some of her masts from the 1852 refit are on display. One puzzling matter could not be resolved. At her stern she flies the White Ensign, the preserve of HM ships.
