VACATION ENHANCING TOURS Make the most of your vacation, and book your tours before your trip. Everything will be pre-arranged and all you have to do is enjoy! HERITAGE OF ISRAEL TOUR (10 days/9 nights) This package includes: • Two-night hotel accommodations at Dan Tel Aviv • Two-night hotel accommodations at Kibbutz Lavi Hotel, Lower Galilee • Five-night hotel accommodation at King David Jerusalem • Full Israeli Breakfast Daily • Two dinners at Kibbutz Lavi Hotel • One lunch at a Dead Sea Hotel (during tour) Day 1: Arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv. Day 2: Enjoy this day at leisure in Tel Aviv. Day 3: Caesarea - Haifa - Acre - Rosh Hanikra: Drive north to Caesarea, once the Roman capital of the region. See the excavations of the crusaders' city, the aqueduct and the amphitheater, which has been restored as a concert venue. Proceed to Haifa for a panoramic view from Mt. Carmel and visit Af Al Pi Chen, the naval museum of the illegal immigration to Israel at the time of the British mandate. Drive to Acre; walk along the old harbor and local market; then, continue to the northernmost point of Israel at Rosh Hanikra. Descend by cable into the limestone Grottoes. Day 4: Safed - Tel Facher - Banias: Drive to Safed, the center of the Kaballa movement, and visit the Joseph Caro, the Ha' Ari synagogues and the artist's quarter. Enjoy a Jeep tour to the foot of the Golan. Continue to Golan Heights and stop at an observation point over the city of Kuneitra, and the Syrian territory. Visit Tel Facher, a former Syrian army camp, and the Banias Springs. Visit Tel-Hai; see the Roaring Lion monument and learn about the heroic battle of Josef Trumpeldor. Afterwards, meet with a kibbutz member and learn about their unique lifestyle. Day 5: Tiberias - Beit Shean - Gan Hashlosha - Mount Scopus: Drive to Tiberias to visit Rambam's grave. Then, proceed to Beit Shean, also called Scythopolis, which is the biggest archeological park in Israel. Stop at Beit Alpha to see the beautiful mosaic floor of a synagogue, then Gan Hashlosha (Sachne), where you will have an opportunity to enjoy the water springs located at the foot of the Gilboa Mountain. Continue via the Jordan valley to Jerusalem, and stop at Mount Scopus for a blessing as you enter the city. Day 6: Old City of Jerusalem: Tour the Old City of Jerusalem. Start with a visit of the tomb of King David on Mt. Zion. Walk along the Cardo, the ancient Roman road and visit the four Sepharadic synagogues in the Jewish quarter. Tour the Kotel Tunnels, Davidson Center and walk through the Roman Cardo to the local Arab bazaar. Stroll through Jaffa Gate to the Tower of David Museum and see the ancient remains of the city, beginning with the First Temple period. Day 7: New City of Jerusalem: Enjoy the bar-mitzvah ceremonies at the Kotel. Continue to Mea Shearim and learn about the unique lifestyle of the ultra-orthodox communities. Drive to Mount Herzl, the military cemetery and Yad Vashem, the memorial to the Holocaust. Visit Ammunition Hill, then drive by the Knesset, Israel's parliament, and see the menorah with the biblical emblems. Visit the Israel Museum, the Shrine of the Book (where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed), and the new Holy Land model, a miniature replica of Jerusalem as it was during the Second Temple period. Day 8: Qumran - Dead Sea - Massada: Drive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea. Stop at Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Continue to Massada, ascend by cable car and tour the ancient fortress to see the remains of the walls, palaces, synagogue and bathhouses. Next, stop for lunch and spa facilities in one of the leading hotels in the area. Day 9: Enjoy this day at leisure in Jerusalem. Day 10: Transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport for your return flight home.
