DAY 9: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE Take an excursion through the Daning River Small Gorges, which are narrower than the Three Gorges, before entering the Wu Gorge, taking in forest-covered mountains and cliffs. Continue on through the Qutang Gorge, the shortest, narrowest and most dramatic gorge. (B, L, D) DAY 10: YANGTZE RIVER CRUISE Today you take a shore excursion to Fengdu, the Ghost City. Walk through the town, observing statues of ghosts and devils on Mingshan Hill, or the new relocation village built for families who have moved as a result of the Yangtze's rising water levels, brought about by the Three Gorges Dam. (B, L, D) DAY 11: DISEMBARK CRUISE – CHONGQING TO GUILIN Disembark from your cruise vessel and visit the Panda House at Chongqing Zoo. Fly to the beautiful city of Guilin. (B, L, D) DAY 12: GUILIN TO YANGSHUO Cruise the stunning Li River to Yangshuo and witness the breathtaking landscape of spectacular limestone hills, tranquil fishing scenes and picturesque villages. Explore this small mountain town, stroll the colorful markets and people watch at an outdoor café. (B, L, D) DAY 13: YANGSHUO This morning, you discover the beautiful rural countryside around Yangshuo, with its pretty hills and local farms. The afternoon is at leisure. We meet again this evening for a display of traditional cormorant fishing. (B, L, D) DAY 14: YANGSHUO TO SHANGHAI This morning, you drive to Guilin Airport for your flight to the cosmopolitan city of Shanghai, also known as the Paris of the East. See the superb antiques and fine arts of the Shanghai Museum, wander around People's Square, and, in the evening, enjoy traditional Shanghai cuisine. (B, L, D) DAY 15: SHANGHAI Sightseeing today includes a stroll through the beautiful Yu Gardens, the Old Town and a walk along the famous Bund, with its colonial architecture. We also visit the modern Pudong area and explore the restored Xintiandi area, with its unique 1920's style shikumen buildings. In the evening, enjoy a cruise on the panoramic Huangpu River, where the historic Bund and the futuristic Pudong come face-to-face.
