DAY 9: DALAT TO NHA TRANG Travel to the coastal town of Nha Trang, Vietnam's premier beach destination. Upon arrival you will cruise around the nearby islands, stopping at one of the beaches where you can go for a swim. (B, L, D) DAY 10: NHA TRANG TO QUI NHON Continue driving north along Highway One to Qui Nhon, stopping en route at the Dam Market and Po Nagar Cham Towers. (B, L, D) DAY 11: QUI NHON TO HOI AN Leave Qui Nhon this morning and stop at Son My to pay homage to the victims of the My Lai Massacre before continuing to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed town of Hoi An. This afternoon is free at your leisure to wander through the town. (B, L, D) DAY 12: HOI AN Tour Hoi An on foot this morning, visiting the Japanese Covered Bridge, a local Chinese temple, Hoi An Market and an old merchant's home, where descendants of the original merchant still reside. (B, L, D) DAY 13: HOI AN TO HUE Leave Hoi An and drive north to the Marble Mountains. Later, view the scenic Hai Van Pass before entering the Hai Van Tunnel and continuing the drive to Hue. Take a cyclo to the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden Purple City. (B, L, D) DAY 14: HUE Cruise along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda. Travel to An Thien House, the original residence of Emperor Tu Duc's daughter, and later visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Royal Tomb of Minh Mang. (B, L, D) DAY 15: HUE TO HANOI Fly to Hanoi this morning and visit the Fine Arts Museum, showcasing both 20th century artworks as well as prehistoric artifacts and famous Buddhist sculptures. Later, explore Hanoi's bustling Old Quarter. (B, L, D) DAY 16: HANOI Visit Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you will see the Humble House on Stilts and One Pillar Pagoda. Afterwards, drive to the Temple of Literature. This afternoon, enjoy a performance of the famous Water Puppets, which have a history dating back thousands of years. (B, L, D) DAY 17: HANOI TO HALONG BAY Early this morning, travel to the area that is regarded as the jewel in the crown of Vietnam, Halong Bay. Relax as you cruise through the emerald waters and around the spectacular scenery of limestone islets. After lunch on board, return to Hanoi. (B, L, D) DAY 18: DEPART HANOI Fly to the US, arriving home later the same day or the following morning, depending on flight schedules.
