W I N T E R I S S U E 3 0 viking.com | 19 5 PARIS, FRANCE Long a hub of French culture, cuisine and architectural splendour, Paris is known as one of the most romantic destinations in the world. Walking along its tree-lined boulevards and along the banks of the Seine, it is easy to see why this little corner of Europe is so admired and beloved. Music, film, architecture, literature, dance, and the visual arts are all well represented in the museums, theaters, bookstores and remarkably preserved buildings of this magnificent city. You will find many leading classical musicians perform at major concert venues such as the Maison de la Radio, the Théâtre des Champs- Elysées and the Théâtre du Châtelet. However, the city is also home to myriad genres and offers a flourishing musical line-up each year, where off stage you may hear music in the streets or churches as you stroll its pretty cobblestone lanes. Paris has also given rise to some of the most iconic musicians in Europe over the past century, including Edith Piaf and Brigitte Bardot.
