• SOLAR PANELS Located on the Sun Deck, these onboard solar panels help make Viking Longships the
greenest vessels on the rivers of Europe.
Beyond the technical aspects of the ships' design, Viking Longships are also equipped with the following
features to reduce environmental impact:
• ADVANCED RECYCLING AND WASTE MANAGEMENT In addition to garbage and recycling separation
facilities, Viking Longships are equipped with a "zero" discharge wastewater treatment system making them
environmentally safe for any river they sail.
• NOISE AND LIGHT REDUCTION Our vessels feature state-of-the-art insulation to ensure the overwater noise
from on board is kept to a minimum, keeping local life undisturbed. On board lighting has also been
designed to ensure no light pollution is disturbing local fish and wildlife.
• BIODIVERSITY-SUPPORTING DOCKING LOCATIONS With more than 60 Viking-owned docking
locations, specifically designed for Viking Longships, we provide an infrastructure that has close to zero
impact on biodiversity.
