Wildlife of THE ARCTIC Polar bears, the iconic symbol of the Arctic, are perfectly adapted to survive the harsh conditions. These magnificent creatures evoke both a sense of power and vulnerability. Within the waters, majestic whales command attention with their graceful presence. The wetlands and shores serve as vital breeding grounds for a multitude of bird species, making them havens for ornithologists and bird enthusiasts. Each creature that inhabits this region has its own story to tell, weaving a rich tapestry of life and adaptation in one of the planet's most extreme environments. POLAR BEARS Polar bears are renowned inhabitants of the Arctic, recognised for their snowy coats and formidable nature. These magnificent creatures are the largest predators on land and have successfully evolved to thrive in the harsh Arctic environment. They rely on sea ice for hunting seals, their primary food source. As a vulnerable species, protecting the polar bear is crucial to maintaining the delicate balance of the Arctic ecosystem.
