THE PYRAMIDS
Led by an expert Egyptologist, visit the Sakkara Step Pyramid, the oldest stone structure
in Egypt, representing a significant milestone in the evolution of pyramid construction.
This ancient monument, designed by the architect Imhotep for Pharaoh Djoser, stands
as a testament to early Egyptian ingenuity and architectural prowess.
Nearby, on the Giza Plateau, the Great Pyramid of Khufu, the last of the Seven Wonders
of the Ancient World, dominates the landscape. Alongside it are the Pyramids of Khafre
and Menkaure, each with their own unique features and historical significance. The
Great Sphinx, known as Abu al-Hol, serves as a symbolic guardian of these monumental
tombs that have endured for over 4,500 years. Together, these sites form part of the
UNESCO World Heritage Site of Memphis and its Necropolis—the Pyramid Fields from
Giza to Dahshur.
