ASWAN DAM
The Aswan Dam, built in the 1960s, stands
as a remarkable feat of engineering that
protects the Nile's fertile lands. Controlling
the river's flow, it has transformed Egypt's
agriculture by preventing devastating
flooding and ensuring consistent irrigation.
The dam also established Lake Nasser,
a vast reservoir stretching more than 300
miles, which provides essential water,
electricity and irrigation throughout Egypt.
