A clinker-built bar pays tribute to the Viking
longships of yester year; the Explorers' Lounge
is a display of cosy pelts; Turkish marble,
amber and pew ter inspired by far-reaching
trade journeys; and natural materials –
including limestone, black slate, juniper, birch,
lichen and moss – all inspired by Scandinavian
nature, can be found throughout our ships.
Even the food on board is connected to our
Scandinavian roots. One of eight dining
options on board our ocean ships, Mamsen's,
named for the Hagen family matriarch, offers
Nor wegian specialties throughout the day.
The array of menu items includes sweet rolls
with cloudberr y jam and other Scandinavian
pastries and cakes; waffles ser ved with either
Nor wegian goat cheese or jam; salmon
gravlax; and late-night split pea soup to warm
the hear t and soothe the soul.
