As the original technological marvels of historic Kinderdijk, these 19 windmills have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in the mid-18th century, these structures stand like sentinels on a hushed landscape. was one of the lovely things about my cruise. I met some wonderful, like-minded people and thanks to the intimacy of our Viking Longship, I had the opportunity to enjoy their friendly and interesting company throughout the voyage. ere were no fixed seating plans at dinner so we were free to share the fabulous food and conversation with different people on different nights, which kept the atmosphere really informal and gave everyone the opportunity to meet and get to know new people.
