T
his is a very special year for Viking as we celebrate our 25th anniversary. It's shaping up
to be our biggest year yet as we welcome 11 new ships to our fleet, providing you with
new destinations, new itineraries and more choices than ever before. We look forward
to sharing many memorable moments and milestones with you throughout the year.
In this issue of Viking Explorer Society magazine, we showcase some of the destinations
we are known for, including the rivers of Europe, the Mediterranean and Scandinavia – the
roots of our heritage. Our first expedition ship, Viking Octantis has completed her inaugural
Antarctica sailing season with great success. Some of the first Australian guests on board this
state-of-the-art ship share their expedition experience to the great white continent.
Later this year, we will be welcoming not one but two of our beautiful ships to Australian
& New Zealand waters, the first time we've had two ships in our region. This provides a
wonderful opportunity for those who want to cruise closer to home. After what will be
nearly three since she was last here, we are excited to welcome Viking Orion back to her
homeports of Sydney and Auckland, and our newest ocean ship Viking Mars will also be
joining us.
If you are looking to travel in 2022, we have some fantastic limited time offers on three of
our most popular Europe river journeys. Whether you are travelling in 2022, 2023 or 2024,
we thank you for your ongoing support and loyalty to Viking and we can't wait to help you
create lasting travel memories on your journeys with us.
Warmest regards,
Michelle Black
