SHOPPING
Bratislava's Old Town is a shopper's paradise,
featuring independent shops that offer locally
made, artisanal products, from handmade
jewellery to custom clothing. For a more
contemporary shopping experience, head to
Eurovea, a spacious mall along the Danube
River. This modern complex boasts over 150
stores, a newly built cinema and a light and airy
atmosphere spread across three levels.
GASTRONOMY
Slovakian food blends a mixture of influences
from Central Europe with its own twist. It is
renowned for being wholesome and delicious,
with cheese and dumplings taking center stage
in most meals. The national dish is bryndzové
halušky, a beloved meal of potato dumplings
with sheep's cheese that is often topped with
sour cream and crispy bacon.
If you find you still have room for more, sip
a local beer. With Slovakia's brewing scene
gaining traction, you will find plenty of local
pubs offering craft beers alongside traditional
fare. Make your way to the Sladovňa, or House
of Beer, a medieval pub in the heart of the Old
Town to sample some of the city's best creations
