GREAT BARRIER REEF
Stretching across more than 1,931km of
Queensland's coastline, the magnificent Great
Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system
in the world. This vividly colourful undersea
environment is home to an astonishing array of
marine life, including 360 species of hard corals
and one-third of the world's soft corals. You
can explore Earth's greatest living structure in a
variety of ways. Take to the sky on a helicopter
that swoops over the vibrant corals or join a
glass-bottom boat tour. Enjoy a catamaran
excursion or try snorkeling in the turquoise
waters.

THE "MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI"
The Mississippi River is full of natural wonders,
and one of the most prominent among them is
its swamplands of the Mississippi Delta, which
form North America's largest river ecosystem.
Keep your eyes open for alligators, beavers,
otters, owls, bald eagles, egrets, ospreys and
turtles. The cypress trees are especially unique
because they produce roots known as "knees,"
which protrude from the surface of the water.
Glide along these ethereal waterways on board
the Viking Mississippi and be transported to
another world.

Mississippi Delta Explorer itinerary.
MEKONG DELTA
In southern Vietnam, the scenic Mekong River
splits into smaller rivers, creating a vast maze
of tributaries known as the Mekong Delta.
Mangrove forests teem with a wealth of birdlife.
Buffalos wallow in rice paddies. Fishermen cast
their nets and children play in the water. The
Mekong Delta is an incredible water world that
ebbs and flows with the Mekong River and
reveals a way of life that has changed little over
the centuries.
Take in the beauty and rich history of
this region on our 15‑day Magnificent
Mekong itinerary.
