OUR COMFORTABLE STATEROOMS are designed
to maximize observation, from our Nordic Balcony
Staterooms to Explorer Suites and Owner's Suite
with verandas and gardens. A first for polar
expedition cruise vessels, all staterooms on board
Viking Octantis and Viking Polaris feature a Nordic
Balcony, a sunroom that converts into an al fresco
viewing platform when sash windows are lowered,
maximizing the chances of spotting wildlife in the
air, sea, or on land. Our Explorer Suites have verandas
and a private garden, and the Owner's Suite has a
private badestamp as well as a boardroom.
NORDIC BALCONY
There are balconies, and then there is the Viking
Nordic Balcony: harnessing the Norwegian
reverence for light and creating the optimal wildlife
observatory at sea. Floor-to-ceiling, distortion-free glass
at the very edge of the ship lets you take in the views
while keeping the elements out. There is no veranda
impeding your view, no intrusion to your elegant living
space, no detail overlooked in our quest to connect you
more closely with the places you seek to explore.
And should you wish to feel even closer to nature, the
top of your panoramic glass lowers to transform your
stateroom into a sheltered al fresco lookout, with an
observation shelf at elbow level to stabilise binoculars
or photograph the majestic wilderness as you glide
by. Breathe in the pure air and listen to the sound of a
breaching whale or the unique whistle of a bald eagle
as you savour your morning coffee or sip on a
nightcap in comfort.
