JØRN HENRIKSEN (NORWAY), DIRECTOR OF EXPEDITION OPERATIONS was born and bred in Arctic Norway. For 25 years he has been working with polar expeditions in the archipelago of Svalbard, after leading hiking and skiing trips as well as glacier traverses, he started focusing on shipborne expedition voyages in both polar regions. Jørn has authored the Norwegian Polar Institute Cruise handbook to Svalbard and has also been working to improve the industry standards of expedition cruising as a member of the executive committee of IAATO (International Association of Antarctic Cruise operators) and as Chair of the Executive Committee of AECO (Association of Arctic Expedition Cruise Operators). DR DAMON STANWELL-SMITH (UK), HEAD OF SCIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY, is a marine biologist with a 27-year career managing polar research. He spent three of those years working on a British Antarctic Survey Base where much of his work was conducted under the polar sea ice. A fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, his previous role was Executive Director of IAATO. AARON LAWTON (CANADA), EXPEDITION OPERATIONS MANAGER, is a fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, has been a kayak guide on more than 150 voyages to the polar regions of the Arctic and Antarctica.
