FUEL EFFICIENT SHIP DESIGN
Our ships exceed the International Maritime
Organization (IMO) Energy Efficiency Design Index
(EEDI) requirements by almost 36%. This includes:
• Integrated bow creating a longer waterline
and less water resistance, providing more efficient
propulsion and less fuel consumption
• Engines with heat recovery systems
• Azipod Electric Propulsion with pod enclosed
motors providing 4% energy savings
• Shore power allows us to run on electricity while
in port.
MARVELS OF TECHNOLOGY
Our expedition ships have a dynamic positioning
mode, enabling a "hover in place" when anchoring is
difficult or prohibited. This preserves sensitive wildlife
habitats on the sea floor, also providing you with
safer, more comfortable excursion craft embarkation.
