Custom magazin of the ye e ar From the editor... I recently had the pleasure of attending the Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster in Western Australia's Kununurra. What a unique event. For 10 days, there were all sorts of amazing things going on – from a comedy night at the Hoochery Distillery, to corroborees by local Indigenous people, a dinner at the Durack Homestead with a feast cooked by chef Anna Gare, and a culminating black tie dinner at the Kimberley Moon Experience. At this special wrap-up dinner, great performers such as Guy Sebastian, Mark Seymour, Gurrumul and James Reyne took to the stage under the stars, by the Ord River. The event began in 2001, and back then it was only a one-night affair – a lovely dinner in the Outback where people from local businesses would get together and celebrate their success. And over 13 years, it has grown into one of the biggest outback events on the Australian calendar, with people travelling from across the continent and from overseas to get amongst it. Now there are over 30 concerts and activities across the 10 days, and while people are in town, they get out and explore the beautiful surrounds of Kununurra. With the Bungle Bungles an hour light-plane ride away, and the majestic Lake Argyle only an hour's drive out of town, there are natural wonders literally on the doorstep. After spending four days in town and exploring the region, I was ready to fly home with a swagload of fantastic memories, and to make my trip even more memorable, who should I end up sitting with at the Kimberly Moon dinner, but Sir Bob Geldof! He'd flown in to check out the music line-up and visit the Bungle Bungles.
